7 Bible Versus For A Busy Week

Everyone says that college is fun... and they are not wrong. You meet lots of people and learn a lot about yourself. But it is also stressful. Papers, exams, and looming deadlines fill each and every student's mind. Thanksgiving break is coming soon, and shortly after the semester will be over. This means, tests on tests on tests, and a few papers mixed in as well. With all this stress sometimes it's hard to keep everything balanced. But hey, you know what they say, a verse a day keep the stress away right? ( totally just made that up...) I've complied seven of my favorite versus in hope that they may help someone struggling this semester.

1. Philippians 4:13

" I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength."

This is my "life verse" so to speak. No matter what I'm going through, or what life throws at me, this verse helps me to keep everything in perspective.

2. Psalm 46:10

"Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted through all the nations, I will be exalted in the earth."

Being still is such a peaceful and calming thing to think about. It's hard not to feel peace when you read this verse.

3. John 14:1

"Do not let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God, trust also in me."

Remembering to let go, and let the Lord take hold of your troubles is so important. God will help you with whatever you ask. He will meet you in the storms and guide you to safety.

4. Philippians 4:6-7

" Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. Also the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus."

Did I mention I love Philippians? I feel like this verse really speaks for its self. Don't be anxious, but instead pray, and God will answer your prayers.

5. Proverbs 16:3

"Commit to the Lord whatever you do, and your plans will succeed."

Whenever I am worried about my future or stressed about times to come, I remember that if I give my all to Jesus, He will help me succeed. Even though it may not be what I had planned, He has something much better planned.

6. Deuteronomy 31:8

"It is the Lord who goes before you. He will be with you; He will not fail you or forsake you. Do not fear or be dismayed."

I was once told that the Lord will not give you more than you can handle. I feel like this verse really echos that. He will not fail or forsake us, but instead, He will always be with us.

7. Psalm 34:17

"When the righteous cry for help, the Lord hears, and rescues them from all their troubles."

Similar to the messages in the other verses, God will always help us and listen to our prayers.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
