Welcome back to the University of Tennessee! Whether you're new to college, campus, or just want to make sure you haven't missed out on things, this post will help you navigate the seven best spots on UT's campus.

7. Blueberry Falls

This stunning little waterfall is actually the eighth wonder of the world. It is found right behind the Bailey Claxton Complex and is a beautiful and relaxing spot to spend time between classes when the weather is nice.

6. Library's Silent Room

Stressed about that next exam? Located on the 5th floor of Hodges, the Silent Room at UTK is a blessing to all. The room is intended for all who need a few minutes of peace and quiet in their day. I highly recommend that you spend a few minutes here, especially during finals week! But remember, this space only works as long as everyone is silent. That means--no phones, no food, no working. Go enjoy some quiet time from all the craziness this welcome week!

5. UT Gardens

Nestled away on the Agriculture Campus, the UT Gardens are a beautiful place to have picnics or even throw around a volleyball or frisbee. If you like running or walking, it's also a great place to exercise and is surrounded by a trail to take you on an adventure.

4. BCC

The Black Cultural Center is great for many things, but my personal favorite is an alternate study area from the library. It has printing (only black and white) and small study rooms to use. You don't even have to rent them. Better yet, a ton of free tutoring can be found there! Don't be afraid to ask for help before you start struggling in your classes!

3. Nathan's Hot Dog Stand

HDG (Hot Dog Guy) is one of the best people you will find on UT's campus. His smile will warm your heart just as his Hot Dogs (and potatoes for my vegetarian friends) warm your belly. He is honestly one of the kindest people and his stand will always be a bright spot on campus! Don't let the POD hot dogs bring you down, there's a better option between Ped Walkway and Fred Brown!

2. Ray's Place

Ray has had a restaurant with southern homestyle food on the Hill for generations. Just writing about it has my mouth watering. It's hidden away at the back of South College, but don't let the distance deter you! The staff is friendly, and Ray will probably welcome you with a tap on his glass eye to show you it's fake. Ray's isn't your typical dining hall, it's local and the food is SO much better than anything Arakmark can provide. You won't regret making the trip up there. It will definitely be a milestone in your UT career.

1. The Chapel

You can find a chapel in any building on Religious Row. I highly recommend that you spend time in one of these places with Jesus. It will be the best decision of your day. The calming atmosphere and beauty of these rooms coupled with the power of Christ will help center your soul, and anyone in one of these buildings would be more than happy to make you feel welcome and loved! Please feel free to stop by anytime!

I hope these 7 spots help you get excited for a great year on Rocky Top!

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
