Dorm food can be your option for little snacks at midnight, when you want to binge-watch a show on Netflix, or when you need a quick meal if you don't want to go to the packed dining hall. Sometimes during my freshman year, when I wanted to hang out with my friends or just hang by myself, I turned to these foods to cheer myself up and to relax.

So, what are the greatest dorm snacks to have for a night in? Here are the top 5 that are essential for a great year snackin' with your roomies and friends.

1. Lay's Potato Chips

This snack is the best food for a night of binge-watching or "Netflix and chill." You can also go with sour cream & onion or BBQ style, and if you take it with a small Capri Sun, then you're living the classy dorm life.

2. Trader Joe's Mac 'n Cheese

I know you probably think Easy Mac is an easier and more efficient way to have a nice cheesy meal, and don't get me wrong, it is. However, if you want the best restaurant style mac 'n cheese in your dorm room, and you don't feel like going to the dining hall to have weird food, then you want this mac 'n cheese.

3. Hot Pockets

Hot Pockets have the reputation for just being the video games snack, but each Hot Pocket is useful after a long day of classes, an energy booster for studying and a "I'm exhausted and need food now" munchie. If you think you can't have Hot Pockets because "too many carbs," well, you're allowed pleasures in life, and those pleasures include nice steamy rolls of eggs, bacon & cheese or pepperoni & cheese in your stomach. So by all means, forget about the carbs, and treat yo' self.

4. Cup o' Noodles

So you don't want to go to the Chinese restaurant off campus, no biggie. You know you need this to satisfy your noodle craving every once in a while. I find that this is the meal compliments well with a "chillax" night with friends and rom-coms.

5. Double Stuf Oreos

Regular-sized Oreos are not enough for your dorm life. In college, it's Double Stuff or nothing. Go big or go home. This is the best food on rainy dismal Saturdays when you feel sad, or just need some time to yourself. Some milk and Skippy peanut butter should always be at hand while eating these delectable sandwich cookies. And, if you really want to maximize your enjoyment with these cookies, spread some Nutella on them, that's when you will know when you have really lived.

6. Linden's Chocolate Chip Cookies

A great runner-up to Oreos, these cookies are the best when you need to write a paper or figure out a presentation, and you want something sweet. These cookies are nice alternatives when the dining hall closes, and you just missed getting those great chocolate chip cookies in the dessert area. After you're done with your work, celebrate the accomplishment of completing your paper or presentation with your very own chipwich complete with Ben & Jerry's cookie dough ice cream. Yum!

7. Brookside Berry Medley Crunchy Clusters

Finally, if you want to be known as the kid with the best dorm snack, this snack is essential. These little Buncha Crunch-type bites are a mixture of berries, granola and dark chocolate. They are the epitome of dorm foods, as they can be enjoyed in any situation. Whether you need to study, need a quick snack before class or need to relax after a long tiring day, these little bites will make you see the greatness in life and serve as a great example of how fruit and chocolate are always delicious together.

All in all, if you want to have the best college dorm experience, do yourself a favor and buy these snacks. These foods are nice to have when you just want to be alone, and are great when you want to make some new friends that could turn out to be long-lasting best friends. To sum it up, if desire to have the full college dorm experience, buy these foods, you will not be disappointed.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
