We all have things that make our lives a little better. Whether it be small things like a summer rain or the bigger things like trips to the beach, we all have our own favorite things that make us feel better even when we're feeling low.

This is a quick look at not only my favorite things but a little look into my life and who I am as a person!

 A fresh manicure and pedicure makes me feel like Queen Elizabeth

Waking up on a sunny Sunday

Opening a new piece of makeup (we all know that exciting feeling, am I right, ladies?).

Receiving mail, especially birthday cards

Clean bed sheets #fresh

First days of school, because it never get old

 Donuts with pink icing and lots and lots of sprinkles

Face masks

100% charge on my phone

Getting candy from a gas station

Long drives at night

Binge watching a new show on Netflix

Getting a new sundress from Old Navy

Finding a killer deal in the dollar section of Target

Getting a bomb coupon from Ulta and/or Bath and Body Works

Quality time with my family

 Kisses from kittens

 Naps in the warm summer sun

Getting pruney from swimming too long

Sand between my toes

Cracking open a cold Diet Coke or a Dr. Pepper on a hard day

The American Flag

Opening a new box of cereal

Submitting an assignment on Blackboard (yes I know I am weird, but there is nothing more satisfying)

Coming home from a long trip

Realizing that its lunchtime

Salsa and chips...I could eat them everyday

A new pair of shoes

 Freshly-painted flowers

 A new wax melt

Alabama winning at any sport, but mainly football, because, well, I live in the South

An afternoon spent in a rocking chair on my mom's back porch

Hot tea, don't judge me

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
