Since midterm season has finally ended, the mood around San Diego State changes into the midset of Halloween. Halloween is near, and people bring out their best costumes and alter egos. Halloween in a college town is one that cannot compare to anything else. It will never be something like your childhood, but something much better. Here are six ways you know people are gearing up for one of the best holidays of the year:

1. People act like there is no tomorrow.

The stress of midterms has accumulated so much so that people want to go wild. These past few weeks leading up to Halloween have been spent vigorously studying away at the library. Stress, tests and more tests have been the daily routine. Halloween is basically an excuse to go crazy.

2. State does it better.

As if celebrating Halloween on the weekend wasn't enough, because, let's be honest, it's really not for college students, the whole week is dedicated to rage. Halloweek is actually a thing here. People start going out on Monday and don’t stop until Saturday raging like no other. Halloweek is very exciting and fun to see everyone in their costumes.

3. Halloweek is the best time to be at SDSU.

Out of all the holidays that happen while school is in session, this is the most spirited. People really go all out for this occasion. People want to outdo one another with the customs makeup and hair. Everyone is so festive. You can almost feel the Halloween mood in the air. People look forward to this occasion every year because it is the most anticipated. People have the notion that SDSU gets down for Halloween and it surely does not disappoint

4. People start to act like this is the last Halloween ever.

Somehow people seem to think that Halloween is never coming around again and that’s that. People act like Halloween only comes once in a lifetime. So one opportunity to go crazy. But, that is SDSU in a nutshell.

5. Halloween night is the end all be all.

Everyone and their mother come out on Halloween night. Even the people you thought never partied come out. They want to experience the fun at its peak. There’s a party down every block.

6. You can never predict the customs you will see.

The most unique and interesting costumes will be seen during this time. People will whip out very bizarre things. It will make you question every part of your being. People are so crafty sometimes. You will be caught off guard numerous times, to say the very least.
