With Christmas time so near college students are beginning to enter the worst season of all: finals. While nothing beats the feeling of walking out of your last final, ready to go home, you're definitely still exhausted from at least a week of all-nighters and endless supplies of coffee. The days leading up to your first final, and all the ones in between are some of the most stressful ones all year. Cumulative or not, you're going to be feeling the pressure of finals this year, so use some of my tips to help you stay totally sane this finals season!
1. Find the puppies
Schools have been doing their research and have found that letting students pet puppies during finals week helps relieve stress. So look into where on campus you can go to find some dogs. And if not take a small road trip with your friends to the nearest pet store and play with all the cute animals they have there!
2. Watch some Vines
I already know you're sad that vine is gone and the best time to reminisce is right in the middle of studying! Whether its one vine or an hour compilation, I can guarantee you'll feel better afterward.
3. Host a secret Santa party
Gather up your best friends and draw some names. The only thing better than giving gifts to your friends is receiving the awesome things they picked out just for you. It doesn't have to take up a lot of time, but the small distraction will definitely help when you need a little break.
4. Watch a late night Christmas movie
While the thought of watching a 2-hour movie doesn't seem like the best way to de-stress, make sure you pick a movie on after 11 and schedule it in advance to make sure you can get a bunch of work done beforehand.
5. Keep a countdown
I'm a HUGE fan of a countdown. I always have one running on my phone. Whether it's for my next break, next time I'll see a friend, or just something small, it's always nice to have something in mind to look forward too.
6. Take a mid-day nap
The amount of time you spend procrastinating all day will be put to much better use if you hit snooze in the middle of the day. When you wake up you'll be well rested and ready to power through and keep studying.
