College brings out the procrastinator in all of us—there's no avoiding it. Your paper isn't due for another week, so don't start it ahead of time. Leave a few hours free the day before and you're all set to go. Procrastination is different for everyone, but here are my top eight ways to procrastinate.
1. Online shop.
This is definitely my number one when I am doing any work on my computer. It just so happens that when I open a new tab on Safari, I immediately go to Nordstrom. Buying a new pair of shoes is more important than my English paper, right?
2. Bother your neighbors.
The beauty of college is the fact you have friends at your doorstep, literally. Being able to walk next door and hang out with your friends is definitely a perk. Don't feel like doing your chemistry homework? Easy fix. Go next door and bother your neighbors.
3. Redecorate the room.
Living in a dorm comes with the freedom to rearrange and redecorate your room whenever you please. Feel like bunking your beds? Do it. Feel like redecorating your walls? Do it. Urban Outfitter's tapestries are irresistible, I understand.
4. People-watch.
There's nothing better than people watching, especially on a college campus. Take a seat on a bench outside the library and enjoy. I must admit, people watching is among my favorite activities to partake in.
5. Attempt Pinterest recipes.
We've all seen the numerous baking videos on both Pinterest and Facebook for these so-called "easy" recipes. Go ahead and try some of them; they may surprise you. And now you'll have a snack for when you actually decide to study.
6. Go to any and all sports events.
Any sports event on campus makes for a good night, whether it be soccer, basketball or football. What's better than cheering on your team to a victory? Go out and show some school spirit.
7. Take a trip.
Whether you want to take a trip out of state or through your college town, plan a trip to get away for a bit. Exploring your college town and experience the local attractions is still school-related, right?
8. Sleep.
This is the biggest necessity of all college students. Any spare moment is the perfect opportunity for a nap. It's inevitable that we won't catch up on the hours of sleep lost, but this is clearly needed to survive. Take a nap and refresh your brain before a long night of cramming.
