With A Little Help from Friends

6 Types of People at Thanksgiving
Indie Wire

Thanksgiving is when friends and family come together to give thanks. During this holiday, you might hear or encounter these types of people during the holiday.

1. The Thanksgiving Grinch.

If you're like good 'ole Chandler Bing here. You might be the Thanksgiving Grinch. You might not like the holiday, but you will tolerate it because your friends love it so much. You are a great friend, but you might let them know that Thanksgiving is not your favorite holiday. That you are only there for whatever reason.

2. The Goofy one.

Joey is both the goofy one, and the human trash can. This person is comfortable in their own skin. You like being yourself and just having fun. Joey doesn't share food no matter who you are, and he's ready to eat tons of food on Thanksgiving by wearing maternity pants. I can't blame him. Thanksgiving is a day where I can eat tons of food, and be okay with it. I don't share my food either. If you want some, you better hope there is more in the kitchen.

3. The Host.

You've been up since early morning cooking, cleaning, and setting up; making sure that everything is perfect. You make sure that everyone is having a good time, and that everything runs smoothly. Like Monica, you make sure everyone is happy and welcomed because you're a good hostess. You are also a good cook. You will do whatever it takes to make Thanksgiving dinner is good even if you have to kick people out of your kitchen to do so.

4. The Competitive One.

Whether its playing sports, playing board games, or for the spotlight. There is always someone that is super competitive. Out of the group, Ross and Monica are the most competitive people in the show especially when they are competing against each other. This person likes to win, and doesn't like to lose. Sometimes, this person gets way too competitive, and ruins it for everyone else. Eventually, people stop playing with this person, or just stops playing in general.

5. The Blunt One.

If you say whatever is on your mind, you're like Phoebe. This could be a good or bad thing. It all depends on what is said, and when its said. This could be really funny, confusing, or end in drama. Sometimes, people just want to voice their opinion, or get to the point.

6. The one that makes a huge announcement.

Holidays is where a lot of news comes out. It's one of the few times a year when most, if not all, of your family is in one area at the same time. It's just easier telling everyone at once then having several different conversation about the same thing. Plus, sometimes it's better to do it face to face than over the phone.

You may or may not have these types of people at your Thanksgiving, but it does happen. I'm not judging you if you fall into one of these types of people. I'm just as guilty.

Thanksgiving is a holiday filled with rich history that started all those years ago. Today, It's a time to reflect on what we're all thankful for. I'm thankful for my family, friends, food, clothes, a home, and the stuff that I have. I'm thankful for the rights that I have. I'm thankful for our military. I'm thankful for being able to go to college and get a good education. I'm thankful for God. I'm thankful for having a job.

I hope everyone has a good Thanksgiving!

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
