For many people, summertime means going on adventures, but within those who go on summer adventures would take in the form of attending a summer comic convention, or a "Con". Comic and entertainment conventions are often a social gathering of people passionate about many forms of media, whether it is comic books, movies, TV shows, and sometimes even video-making! Con-goers can travel far and wide for one weekend to explore their inner or outer geek with all the perks and limits of being a part of the con experience.

1.LINES!!!

Of course, with any huge event, you'll run into lines everywhere at any con. It could be the line for autographs, to register, for food, or to even take a picture with a guy dressed as He-Man. The best way to avoid any lines is to arrive at the convention early to register and to have a good time without waiting.

2.Costumes Everywhere!

Costume Play or "cosplay" is very popular in conventions where people of all ages dress as their favorite characters from fictional work or even come up with creative costumes that haven't been done before. Cosplay groups have become so popular in conventions that they are one of the most common ways to befriend people.

3.You will come across at least one Deadpool.

The Merc' with a Mouth is a popular choice of costume in any given convention. Even if a convention has nothing to do with comic books or superheroes, you will still seek out a familiar red and black figure. In some cases, Deadpools would gather in flocks in different variations of the Marvel character.

4.Company booths that give away free stuff.

Conventions can be expensive to fund, with some company sponsorship's, plenty of people can have the opportunity to attend a convention. In addition, companies will have their own booths to promote their brand with free stuff!

5.Celebrity Panels.

Conventions are also a place to have the opportunity to meet your favorite actor or actress, or even comic book writer. Celebrity panels have always been the main event in any convention as fans and celebs connect through the Q and A session.

6.Merchandise EVERYWHERE!!

If spending money on a weekend pass and an autograph isn't enough, conventions have huge exhibitor halls where con-goers can purchase new swag that relates to their favorite series. There are merchandise booths from companies that will sell various items like action figures or clothes, and then there is an artist alley where fans can buy drawn art of their favorite character or even get themselves a self-portrait to support local artists.

There are plenty of reasons why thousands of people attend cons, but by the end of the weekend the results would often be a fun-filled weekend. Even a day at the convention can be plenty of fun, getting to take a break from the busy world to unwind on some entertainment.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
