6 Things You Should Never Say To A Fashion Major

Have you ever stopped to think about the clothes that you are wearing right this second? If you thought about it, you would realize that countless amounts of people created your outfit, shipped your outfit, and sold your outfit. How do you think this happens? Through fashion majors. Right now I, along with thousands of others, are studying to become designers, buyers, writers, etc., so that you will be able to wear those cute jeans or that sexy top. You're welcome :)

"You're so lucky!"

I am lucky that I decided what I want to do with the rest of my life, yes, BUT I am not lucky that I major in fashion. Contrary to belief, it's harder than it looks.

"My work is so much harder!"

Just because I am not studying the anatomy of a body doesn't mean that I do not work just as hard as you do. Also, my classes aren't "easy."

"You're taking the easy way out."

Even if my classes were "easy," which they are not, I am still not taking the easy way out. The fashion industry is actually very hard to become a part of and it is A LOT of work.

"So like, what kind of job can you get with that?"

You can get so many jobs with a fashion degree! You can be a writer, a buyer, a designer, start a company, work in PR. The possibilities are endless, you just have to take the correct classes.

"If you're not a design major what are you?"

Personally, I am a Fashion Communications major. "What's that?" Think of all of the stuff that you would learn as a Comm major. Now, base that strictly around the fashion industry, that's me! You can also be a merchandising major!

"You're wasting your time."

Thanks for your opinion, but I am not wasting my time. I will be just as successful as you, if not more.

Please realize that there are more majors than just yours and they can all be successful too!

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
