1. The People
Midwesterners have a special way of treating people, if there was a saying of "midwestern hospitality" it would define everything that is Mizzou. You will not go a day without someone holding the door for you or screaming 'M-I-Z' on the quad. Everyone that surrounds you makes you feel right at home - being from out-of-state, that feeling is indescribable and couldn't be matched anywhere but at the one and only Mizzou.
2. The Campus
Pulling up to the columns is a surreal moment - not just the first time, but every time. The campus is not only a pristine botanical garden, but a haven for all that is beautiful. The perfectly sculpted buildings, like Memorial Union, all renovated with an aged charm, give the campus a depth of beauty that makes the grounds unlike any other school.
3. The Nightlife
There is never a dull moment in Columbia, and that is because of the incredible university. From late night Rollins, to Roxy's, to concerts at Tiger Plaza, Mizzou is sure to never disappoint when it comes to keeping the students entertained.
4. The State
Missouri is the best place for the greatest college of all time. The changing leaves in the fall, the inches of snow on the ground, the tulips blooming in all the sororities' front yards, and the warm summer darties make Mizzou what it is. Having all 4 seasons makes Mizzou the most beautiful campus around.
5. The SEC
When people say there is nothing quite like an SEC football game, they are right, and Mizzou does not fall short of that standard. The cheering, the music, the bass, the whirlwind of black and gold, the smell of beer and hot dogs, it will give you chills every time. Whether it is your first game or your last, there is nothing comparable in experience to a Mizzou football game.
6. The Love
You will never find a Mizzou student that is not ridiculously and wholly passionate about their love for this school. Mizzou is a community of people that share a weird but awesome infatuation with the school and everything that it entails. When outsiders talk about that 'feeling' they get when they visit, they aren't kidding.
I like to define Mizzou by the saying, 'From the outside you don't understand it, and from the inside you can't explain it'. If you haven't had the chance to experience this incredible university, I truly apologize, because you are missing out. There are so many more reasons to love Mizzou, but if you don't feel like screaming out the fight song, wearing black and gold, or hammock-ing at the columns by now, you don't belong here, anyways.
