6 Things People With Kind Hearts Understand

Soft and kindhearted people are not fools. They know what people did to them, but they forgive again and again because they have beautiful hearts.

It’s nice to know that in such a cruel world, kindhearted people still exist. Here’s a short list of things that anybody with a kind heart will understand.

1. You have a hard time saying no.

I’ve been in situations like this a million times. Someone asks you to do something and you really want to say no, but you can’t. You could take on a thousand things at once and you’ll never say no. Or someone wants you to do something you know isn’t right, but you do it anyway. It’s all because you are afraid of disappointing people.

2. You forgive way too easily.

I am definitely guilty of this one. It could be little things, such as forgetting to text back or not remembering something, and you still tell them that it’s okay, but deep down it isn’t. Or it could be something big, like lying to you, and you still forgive them. You’ll probably never forget though.

3. You will always see the good in a person.

Whether you want to or not, you will always find a reason to say that someone is a good person. Someone could break your heart into a million pieces and you will still see the good in them. You will always have respect for a person even if they do you wrong.

4. You hold on when you should let go.

If you have a kind heart, you will have the hardest time letting go. You will hold on to someone even if every muscle in your body aches, even if it feels like your heart has been ripped from your body, stomped on and put back in. You’ll never really let go or move on because your mind will still be wrapped around that one person.

5. You hurt more than others.

A person with a kind heart isn’t used to hurting, because they do everything in their power to make sure they never hurt anyone. So when they do get hurt, it takes them much longer to get over it. They may never get over it. Most people don’t realize that so they just take it as a sign of weakness. It’s actually a sign of strength.

6. You get taken advantage of very easily.

It goes back to not being able to say no. People know you can’t say no, so they ask, already knowing the answer of course. They take advantage of your willingness to forgive or turn a blind eye to what they’ve done. They take advantage of your need to please people and help them.

If you come across a person with a kind heart, cherish them. Don’t hurt them. Thank them. In a world full of evil people, you will still find some that have a kind heart.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
