We've all had our hearts race as we think we heard something in our house after watching a terrifying movie. Scary movies, at least the good ones, tend to have that affect on people.
1. You check your closet. And behind your shower curtain.
Hollywood horror films have taught us to always look in the obvious places for those secret killers or monsters. You'll feel anxious until you're sure you've searched all potential hiding places.
2. When the stairs creak, you freak out.
You're certain there's a stranger creeping up your stairs with a knife, but in reality, you probably just live in an old house and you're psyching yourself out.
3. You sleep cuddling something when you go to bed.
If you have a pet, you probably steal them out of their own bed to cuddle them. If you don't have a pet, you settle for a pillow, or a stuffed animal, or even a blanket.
4. You're up all night texting your friends.
Because you can't sleep, that means your friends don't get to either. You blow up their phones, telling them secret words you'll send them if you're in danger. You beg them to come sleep over last minute, anything not to be alone.
5. If you end up unable to sleep, you pop in a Disney movie.
Disney movies make everything better. After watching one, the light-hearted story will melt away the fears from watching a horror film.
6. When you do finally go to sleep, you're prepared.
Maybe you grabbed some scissors to hide under your pillow, or you have a bat tucked to the side of your head board. Either way, you're going to be prepared!
