With 10 seasons and 236 episodes, it's sometimes hard to choose which episode of "Friends" to watch.
So in order to save the world from this horrible epidemic, I have carefully concocted a perfect recipe of six episodes that I truly believe represent the wittiness, silliness, and happiness that is "Friends."
Hopefully, this list will help you narrow down your options, whether you're in need of a laugh or just want to zone out the world.
1. S:3 E:12 The One With All The Jealousy
Netflix
This is hands-down one of my favorite episodes. Joey immediately finds himself in a bind when a lavishly embellished lie about his years of dance experience catch up to him. However it's the dance instructor who really gets me: his emphatic and vigorous demonstration of the steps is comedically over-done and blatantly impossible for Joey to memorize (yet alone execute), and the scene where Joey's "students" perform his work is imperfectly perfect.
2. S:9 E:19 The One With Rachel's Dream
Netflix
This episode had me laughing for (admittedly) way too long. With Monica being occupied with work, Chandler and Ross take a trip to Vermont to use a nonrefundable room. Ross gets a sugar-high from overdosing on maple candy, which is hilarious in itself. While in their room, Ross educates Chandler on the art of taking what the hotel "owes" them, which is hysterical as they dance on the line between stealing and taking what is up for grabs. You will never look at the word "complimentary" the same again.
3. S:10 E:8 The One With The Late Thanksgiving
Netflix
This episode is full of laughs, especially when Phoebe, Ross, Rachel, and Joey are all gathered around outside of Chandler and Monica's apartment, trying to think of an excuse for being late to Thanksgiving dinner. Joey's lovable idiocy is particularly showcased, from his make-shift Ross-getting-mugged-look to his creepy yet hilarious apologetic stares. Warning: it's incredibly hard not to crave turkey and mashed potatoes after. Proceed with caution.
4. S:3 E:10 The One Where Rachel Quits
Netflix
Ross accidentally breaking a girl scout's leg leads him to guiltily taking her place in a contest to sell the most cookies. His immature interactions with the other girl scouts are hilarious and he never fails to stoop to any level, no matter how low. Furthermore, selling the cookies regenerates Monica's unhealthy childhood addiction that comedically parallels one involving controlled substances, rather than chocolate covered mint wafers.
5. S:8 E:11 The One With The Creepy Holiday Card
Netflix
Focusing heavily on Ross and Mona's strained relationship, the episode houses Ross's laughable panic as he tries to deal with the reality of their romance going too fast. His reactions and behavior are so strange yet so purely Ross that you can't help guffawing as you watch him bend over backwards to avoid getting strapped into any kind of commitment.
6. S:5 E:7 The One Where Ross Moves In
Netflix
The all-too-familiar scenario that takes place between Ross, Chandler and Joey after his ex-wife's cousin kicks him out of his apartment is hilariously relatable. Ross becomes the dreaded roommate who changes the answering machine message, never unpacks, and quiets down others with a infuriatingly annoying hand gesture. Furthermore, the comedically-small apartment that Chandler and Joey try to pawn off on Ross is a humorous scene you won't want to miss.
