There are pros and cons to being a tall girl. At 5'11, I know them both all too well. When I was younger, I was insecure about my height and did not like being tall. I have since learned to embrace being tall and to love my height. There is no use not liking something about yourself that you cannot control. Just like with anything, being tall comes with its challenges.
1. Constantly being reminded that you are tall
For some reason when you are tall people constantly remind you by saying,"Wow, you are tall." As if you are not already aware. After hearing this all of the time it can get kind of annoying.
2. Always Being asked if you play basketball or volleyball
People automatically always assume tall people are athletic. I can not even count how many times I have been asked the questions "Do you play volleyball." and "Do you play basketball?"
3. People telling you that you can't wear heels
It is so difficult to find pants that are long enough to fit your legs. Sometimes you try on a cute dress but then it looks like a shirt on you.
4. Being told you are too tall
Sometimes people tell you that you are too tall, as if you can control your height. It is best to just completely ignore these people.
5. Shopping can be a nightmare
It is so difficult to find pants that are long enough to fit your legs. Sometimes you try on a cute dress but then it looks like a shirt on you.
6. Never having enough leg room
Whether its in a car, train, plane, or any other cramped location, having enough leg room is always a challenge.
In the end despite all of the struggles being tall is great. I love my height and would never change it because it is a part of me and it is who I am. So no matter what height you are; whether you are tall or short embrace it, and love it because it is you.
