Throughout our lives, many things are seen differently in the eyes of each person but for some reason, every person that attends a university has the same thoughts on the experience you are going to have while there. This thought is that "College is going to be the best four years of your entire life."
Attending a University is a huge step in anyone's life. It is most likely the first time you have ever been away from home for that long, your first time being on your own and it is your first time being free of the stress your parents give you.
Sounds great and all, being finally free from your parents. Well little do you know, college brings on many stresses that you never thought would be a thing. Since college is stereotypically known as a time in one's life to party and go out more than once a week, you wouldn't ever think of that as being "stressful."
Okay maybe partying more than once a week isn't "stressful," but I can definitely tell you it can cause many worries including:
1. Time management
Every second of the day is a second that can be wasted. Don't let time get the best of yourself. Use a planner and manage your time to the T.
2. Freshman 15
Making time to eat and especially making time to go to the gym is something many college students struggle at doing, so throwing a hot pocket or cup noodles in a microwave is something many tend to do without thinking about the consequences of the Freshman 15.
3. 11:59pm due dates
Trust me, something you will realize is that professors don't just like but love the 11:59pm due dates. Before you have yourself a night make sure to get all your work done because once 11:59 hits your grade just fell a few points and there is NO TURNING BACK.
4. Meetings on meetings
Trying to be involved means that you are going to have to attend not just one meeting but many meetings that most likely take place monthly if not weekly. Adding meetings to your schedule is something that has to be done but could be such an inconvenience at times.
5. Pop quizzes
*Every college student on a normal basis that has a no attendance policy class but is still randomly given pop quizzes*
I know we all have those classes that trick us into a "no attendance policy," but in the end of the day its like playing Russian roulette and you don't know when your teacher is going to throw a pop quiz at you.
6. Sleep
Coming to college, sleep is something we all lack especially when you have 20 things going on at once. If only our day was 36 hours, maybe we would all have enough time to add sleep into our schedules.
