You know that moment when you finally admit to yourself that you have a cold? You've been ignoring the signs, you've been in denial, but then you wake up after sleeping for 8 hours feeling like you just feel asleep, well then you are definitely experiencing the six stages of having a cold.
1. What Is That Tickle In My Throat?
Huh, that's weird. I must have scratched my throat earlier. Yeah, that's it.
2. Denial
I'm gonna be fine. I'm definitely not sick. I don't need Nyquil, and I definitely don't need Dayquil. I'm going to have my coffee and that will make me feel better.
3. Yep, I'm Sick
Ugh, yep, I have a cold. I'm coughing. I can't talk without my throat being dry and needing a cough drop. I'm snotty and need tissues. I have awful sinus pressure. Dayquil here I come.
4. OMG, I'm Dying
I'm dying. I don't want to get out of bed. I don't want to go to school. I don't want to go to work. I don't want to do anything. This cold will never go away! Just leave me here to die.
5. Why Me?!
Why does this happen to me? What did I do to deserve this?! I promise I will never take not having a cold for granted again, I just want to stop coughing and sniffling. PLEASE!
6. Nah, I Wasn't Sick
Pft. I wasn't sick, that was just a sniffle and that was still nothing. I'm good!
