6 Signs You're A Shopping Addict

I don't want this; I need this.

Just recently I realized I am a confirmed shopping addict. I’ve noticed every time I get paid I’m either online shopping or dragging my boyfriend to drive me to the nearest mall. There’s nothing wrong with being an addict unless you aren’t managing your money into your habit. Here are six signs that you might be a shopping addict too:

1. Constantly getting packages sent to your house

My roommates hate me for this. The delivery man is probably sick of bringing me packages every day. But every day the doorbell rings and guess what? It’s a new package addressed to me. Oops? Online shopping is just so much easier. You can wake up every morning and relax in your bed with a cup of coffee and start spending. You don’t even have to get ready; that’s the best part. The only downside to shopping online is when my mom sees my credit card statement, and I constantly get texts saying, “What did you get from Amazon now?”

2. Once you're paid, it's out the door you go.

Pay day is the best day because you can go to stores and go shopping. Direct deposit is probably the best thing ever to be invented because you’re on a schedule and you know you’re getting paid right at midnight so you can plan accordingly for a whole day of shopping.

3. Only shopping on the sale rack

If you only shop on the sale rack, it’s okay to splurge a little. Right? You just feel better about yourself if you got your shoes for only $15 instead of $50. Deals are what make the world go round. Deals are what make my mom happy when I come home with six different store bags. Also the deal-bragging rights. You have to announce to everyone when you score a great deal.

4. Putting things on hold so when you do have money you can buy it

I am a huge believer in this. When you know pay day isn’t for another three days, but of course you’re out shopping, and the retail store comes out with its fall sweater collection, put it on hold. Most of the time you can hold that item off until your payday.

5. You don’t have enough hangers and storage space to hold your items.

My closet has three storage racks and is a pretty decent size, but I don’t have enough hangers for all of my clothes. I have a dresser and another clothing storage holder, and it simply just isn’t enough either. I cannot wait until I have my own house with a huge walk-in closet, like the one Hannah Montana had. I also have a problem with getting rid of old clothes. I most likely have the shirt I wore in sixth grade because I simply just can't get rid of it.

6. Only needing to go to one store, but ending up going to all of them

This is a common problem we all find ourselves doing. Yeah, you did just only have to go to Walmart, but T.J. Maxx, DSW and Target are right there. Why not? My boyfriend hates me for doing this to him. I always have to make a promise when we go on our strip mall of stores at school that I will only go to Walmart.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
