Lucy Hale is best known as the artsy, petite Aria on "Pretty Little Liars," the show known as much for its fashion as for its danger. In real life, Hale is just as strong and bold as her character and is a good role model for young women and teenage girls. She exemplifies what it means to be small but mighty, as Spencer Hastings would say.
1. She has proven that people can be just as mighty and glamorous as the rest of the population.
Although most models are tall and leggy, Hale has been featured a couple times on the cover of Cosmopolitan, Seventeen and a bunch of others. Not only that but she is an ambassador for Avon.
2. She has admitted that "Pretty Little Liars" creates unrealistic beauty standards for young girls.
She has admitted in an interview that she and her costars "are normal girls, we have zits and it’s important that girls know that." She has also admitted she is worried that she and the other stars are making their fans feel like they don't measure up.
3. She is a talented singer.
The songs on her debut album "Road Between" are catchy. Some making you want to tap your feet or dance, like "Just Another Song." Her lyrics are the best part of these songs, telling a story just like Carrie Underwood or Taylor Swift. Her version of "Let It Go," not on the album, will give you good chills despite the country taste given to it as she belts out the notes with fellow country singer Rascal Flatts.
4. She used to have an eating disorder but has recovered.
Although she diets, she loves good food and although she exercises she does not do it in excess. She hopes that by being open about it that she can encourage other young women to stay healthy and maintain a positive body image.
5. So far she has not been involved in any scandals.
So she isn't labeled as a bad girl or spoiled Hollywood celeb.
6. Although she is not as over-the-top or bold as her character Aria, Hale has great fashion.
Her outfits vary, which make her more interesting.
To sum it all up, Lucy Hale is a good role model because she is down-to-earth, honest and has proven that she is only human like the rest of us.. Even if you do not share her style or like her music, at least appreciate what she represents.
