6 Reasons Why Yu-Gi-Oh! Was My Favorite Childhood Show

I remember when I was little and I was so amused by how all the anime characters looked. I loved how they were dressed and how big their eyes were. Anime is something that stood out to me from all other cartoons.

One show that I loved watching, was Yu-Gi-Oh!, it's about a boy named Yugi and his best friends Joey, Tristan, and Tea. They share a love for a card game called Duel Monsters! It's a card-battling game in which players put different mystical creatures against one another in creative and strategic duels! Yugi and his friends would go on a journey and duel against people that they come across and I find it entertaining to watch! Here are my reasons why I love this show:

1. The design of the millennium puzzle:

I'm a fan of old fashion things and I love how it's an Egyptian item in the series. Yugi took FOREVER to put all of the puzzle pieces together. However, the puzzle instills Yugi with an ancient spirit, such a Pharaoh or Yami Yugi, and the two work together to form a stronger, more confident duelist!

2. Seto Kaiba is a sarcastic smart-ass:

Kaiba is a guy that always wants to defeat Yugi at playing Duel Monsters. Whenever he sees Yugi and his friends, he comes up with these funny/sarcastic/clever ways of talking to them that blows my mind. He's a rich guy and even though he can be harsh and stuck up, there are some things that I would just LOVE to high five him on.

3. Dark Magician Girl:

She looks so happy and prepared to battle every single time! I love the pink and the blue together and I remember how much I used to draw her when I was little. Sometimes she would even strike a pose before she attacks a monster! How can you not love her?

4. Yugi/Yami Yugi's Determination

I really like how both Yugis, whether the real one or Yami, are so determined when it comes to dueling against someone. They don't brag or carry a big ego, they just play within the heart of the cards! Also, no matter which Yugi, he is known as the king of games! I love people in general who are good at something and don't make themselves look cocky.

5. All of the dueling cards looked so cool:

Yu-Gi-Oh! had the coolest trading cards that I used to collect; I'm pretty sure that they are still in my room! I had so many cards in a little box! I can't say how many cards do I have exactly, but you can tell by how much I loved this show.

6. The symbolism of friendship:

Yugi cares deeply about his friends and his friends care about him too. They created a symbol of friendship on their hands just to remind each other that no matter what, someone is by their side. Looking at their friendship makes me smile a lot.

Yu-Gi-Oh! for me, is the kind of show that will always have a special place in my heart. This was my most favorite show as a child and right now, I'm happy that it's on Netflix. It brings back all of the great memories and I'm glad that it was a part of my life.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
