When Rory Gilmore switched to a new school in a new town I didn’t feel so alone at my new school in a new town when I was 9 years old. Lorelai Gilmore taught me how important having your mother as a best friend is and that you shouldn’t be ashamed of eating a whole pizza by yourself. Lane Kim was the best friend that taught me first hand not to run my fingers through some guy’s hair, even if it really is luscious and soft. Luke Danes was the perfect father figure, even though he wasn’t actually Rory’s dad, he was there for everything from her first day at Chilton to her last day at Yale. Paris taught me to how important school is but that you should also go out and have a life because Harvard doesn’t just want a 4.0 GPA.
Gilmore Girl’s guided me through high school and the drama of mean girls and boys, as well as helped me decide what college to go to with the Gilmore Girl’s Pro and Con list. Now that Gilmore Girl’s is coming back with a new season I can’t be more emotionally confused.
Here are some reasons why I’m not ready for a Gilmore Girl’s Revival and questions that come along with them.
1. Edward Herrmann, Richard Gilmore, passed away in December of 2014.

The big tall man in the suit that we first met hidden behind a newspaper has left this earth. Gilmore Girl’s will never be the same without the powerful Grandfather we all grew to love. Will the show give us closure to the loss of this man or will it just make us feel empty without him present in the show and our lives?
2. Another cast member that won’t be making it back to Star Hollow is our crazy friend Sookie St. James.
We watched her grow as a chef and marry the love her life. She was always there when we needed a basket of muffin tops and when we needed a friend to drink wine with and talk about our problems. What is an episode of Gilmore Girls without our neighbor Sookie?
3. Rory Gilmore is all grown up.
As a college student making my way towards the finish line I can’t help but to think about Rory’s journey that brought her to the steps of a bus where she would follow Barack Obama and his first presidential campaign. Where is Rory with her career now? What about her love life? After turning down Logan’s proposal did she find her way to a new unknown man or back to the bad boys we met so long ago in high school, Jess or Dean?
4. The last episode of season 7 gave us all what we were waiting for, Luke and Lorelai back together again.
Where will their lives be after 9 years? Their relationship was a roller coaster from the first episode when Luke denied Lorelei more coffee to the two of them kissing at Rory’s bon-voyage party. Does this revival mean we missed the wedding? Another break-up? Or maybe a baby?
5. No matter the amount of episodes Netflix plans to give us it won’t be enough.
When we finally reached that last episode of Gilmore Girls it took a lot of time to prepare to say goodbye. How are we supposed to let this new series of Gilmore Girls enter our lives and then leave us again in a blink of an eye?
6. How am I supposed to watch this new series of Gilmore Girls when I’m at college away from my mom?
I guess I’ll have to wait to be ready for this new Gilmore Girls excursion when I’m back with my best friend.
