College is the time for new experiences. Many colleges and universities offer study abroad programs that allow you to travel to other countries to study. There are many benefits to traveling during college, whether you do it to actually learn and gain independence skills or if you want to travel to try new foods. Here is a list of 6 reasons why it's a GREAT idea to travel during your college years.


1. New Language Skills

Learning a new language can be difficult sometimes; however, by totally surrounding yourself with a different language, it's a lot easier to pick up on a few words.

2. Learn About Different Cultures

Different countries have different cultures. Sometimes it's nice to learn and experience the different cultures that other places can offer.

3. Study Abroad Scholarships


Traveling in general can be pretty expensive. By traveling during your college years, you may be able to get you hands on a few study abroad scholarships to help bring that cost down.

4. Credit Hours

Getting credit hours for visiting another country? Count me in!

5. Job Opportunities

While you're in a different country, don't forget to network. You may be able to gain different opportunities for after graduation.

6. Making New Friends

Of course, one of the best part of traveling is the friendships you can gain. Then, after you graduate, you have more of a reason to return.
