6 Reasons why I Love Tattoos.

1. Tattoo's are a form of expression.

It's your body and you can decorate it however you like. Tattoo's are a true expression of who you are on the inside. It's like literally wearing your heart on your sleeve. You are showing others what you love and who you are with out even talking to them. Whether it's a full sleeve or just a small tattoo, it's an extension of your inner self.

2. Tattoo's create stories on your body.

Almost all tattoos have a story. I am a writer and I appreciate a good story. What better story is there than a visual one on someone's body. Even small tattoo's that you would not think to have a story, have a story. For example; right before my high school graduation I got a tattoo of a star on my right foot. At the time, it looked cute and I just wanted it. I was freshly 18 years old and it seemed like the best thing to do. Now that I look back it is a symbol of my youth. A symbol of a simpler time before college, I was surrounded by people I loved. I wouldn't change that experience for anything. Five years later I still love this tattoo; I will always love this tattoo.

3. It's art.

Tattoo's are pictures permanently on someone's body. When getting a tattoo, your body becomes a canvas. Tattoo artist are creating a beautiful design for you to wear forever. I think it's pretty cool to think that we have the ability to become a walking canvas.

4. They give you a chance for closure.

Tattoo's can be a symbol of closure. They are a life marker. Whatever is going on in your life at that time, you will always remember getting your tattoo. You can use them to be markers to pay tribute to a loved one. Now that they are apart of you, they will never feel far away. They give you chance to honor them the way you want them to be honored.

5. It's history!

Tattooing has been a part of history for the past 5200 years. This is a tradition that has been practiced across the globe since before Neolithic times. This is a tradition that is going to grow. I will continue to get tattoos to contribute history myself.

6. Having tattoos do not change you as a person.

Tattoos are an extension of you. Tattoo's do not make you a bad person. They simply enhance you the way you want. It's your body and you can do whatever you feel necessary to it. Some of the nicest, caring people I have ever met have full body tattoos.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
