Everyone is told that college is the best four years of your life. College consists of being away from home, meeting new people, and preparing yourself for the rest of your life. The people you meet in college make the biggest impact on your happiness while you are in school and beyond those four years. These are the friends who supported you through some of the hardest, yet most exciting years of your life, and they rightfully remain in your life beyond college. These six reasons explain why your college friendships are lifelong friendships.
- They see you at your worst and still love you. Your college friends see you when you wake up, after a hard test, or after a workout. No matter how tired you look or how sweaty you are, they will still want to grab a bit to eat or hang out with you. After nights of crying or bad days, your friends will want to help you and make you feel better the best way they know how: eating/shopping/crying your hearts out.
- They see you at your best and want even more for you. Your college friends are the most supportive people (besides your parents). Not only are they experiencing similar successes at the same time you are, but also they are always happy and proud when you succeed.
- They let you borrow endless amount of clothes so you always look your best. Some college friends have “business professional” clothing that they will let you borrow for interviews, meetings, and presentations, so you always look your very best. They also have the best going-out clothes that they will let you wear if you promise to return it in one piece.
- They will eat endless cake, ice cream, and pizza with you no matter what time it is, and they will not judge. For the most part, they are craving those foods just as much as you are, so you might as well just eat all of it together.
- They will be your workout and homework companions. It is 100 percent more motivating to have someone to study in the library with and to run around campus, than doing those things by yourself.
- Since they have been there for you through all the big ups and downs of your life, there is no way they would not want to stay in touch after college. There were too many memories that were made and many more to be made. These friends will always be there for you and will want to be a part of your life past college.
