Luckily for me, I have the pleasure of living with three of my very best friends. Two of them however, are guys. Yes, I also live with two men. While most girls would be opposed to the idea, I absolutely love my boys. These are just some of the upsides to male roommates.
1. They are always your go-to men.
Whenever you need advice or someone to talk to, they always have an open mind and a listening ear. Even though they may not know who Kate is or why it is relevant you share a similar love interest, they act like they do.
2. You always have a date for a dance.
If you cannot find a date and end up asking your roomies, of course they will not leave you hanging. They are the first ones to ask, “Does my tie match your dress?”
3. They make you laugh.
When you are feeling down, they always do the dumbest things just to put a smile on your face. They always want to see you happy and will make complete fools out of themselves just to see you smile.
4. They are your best friends.
You are together so much that people often think you are in a relationship. You are always happy and smiling when with them, but in reality they are just your roommates whom you wouldn’t be able to live without.
5. They know how to shower you with compliments.
If you ask them how you look that day, they will be completely honest and say “Damn girl, lookin fine.” Girl friends will be brutally honest with you and while that is much appreciated, it can also be unnecessary. Your guy roommate knows that the reassurance you receive from his compliment will brighten your day.
6. They love you more than they say they do.
Even though you tell your boy roommates how much you love them every day, they will always deny the fact that they love you. But at the end of the day, you are the only girl on their mind.
