Before you can accept a job in your chosen career, you most likely have to complete an internship. Most times you work for free, doing whatever your boss needs and what no one else wants to do. It can be stressful, but there are always those few people that get you through this unique experience.
1. Your Work BFF
When you walk in on the first day, you are scared to death. You don’t know anyone and fear no one will talk to you or invite you to eat lunch. Then, out of nowhere, your office best friend comes through. Then you're spending the days texting each other from your desks and giggling quietly. You look forward to lunch runs and talking about the office drama.
2. The One That Teaches You The Most
So your internship is all about learning…Right? There is always that one employee that really cares enough to give you the most of this experience. They help you learn, teach you and answer any questions you may have. If it wasn’t for them, you would probably just stare at your computer screen all day clueless.
3. The Office Crush
So you are going about your business, doing coffee runs and fixing paper jams when the cutest person in the whole office comes over. They’ve got their coffee in hand, wind blowing through their hair, and basically modeling right in front of your very eyes. You wipe the drool from your mouth as you stumble over saying hello. But they barely notice you're alive and continue down the hallway right past you. You remind yourself to keep cool and pull yourself together.
4. The Diva
There is always one. The Queen of the Office. Best shoes, best hair, and they know it. They never learn your name and don’t give you the time of day because you are just the intern. You do most of their work and they get all the credit. “Do you even work here peasant?”
5. The Awkward One
When you first met, you weren’t sure if they were having a bad day, you forgot to shower, or they were just super awkward. They bump into you on your way to the bathroom, then they apologize and run in the opposite direction. After the third awkward encounter, you realize it's not you and almost look forward to it each day.
6. The Boss
DUN DUN DUNNNNNN. The one person you work tirelessly to impress all in the name of a good letter of recommendation. Get the mail? You already got it... Call that client? You did it… Shined their shoes? Done and in the closet along with their nicely pressed dry cleaning. Once you get to know each other they are actually pretty cool.
Even though you woke up before the roosters and put on some clothes with last nights make up for weeks for this internship, in the end it turned out that it wasn’t so bad. But you definitely wouldn’t have made it through without your co-workers.
