It's a great month to remember that you don't have a significant other, but it doesn't have to be. In my life, I have had significant other during Valentine's Day and I still prefer Galentine's Day. Again, in my experience, Valentine's day just seems like a fancy date, you exchange a gift, and maybe you get a little bit of action. But Galentine's Day, you hang out with your single besties and have a great time with no pressure! So, let's get to it! Here are my favorite ways to make Galentine's Day as fun as possible.

Party games.

For The Girls is a game specifically designed for girls nights like Galentine's Day, so there is really no going wrong! Whether you know your friends like the back of your hand or you are new to the group, this game is a lot of fun. There are five categories to the game; truth or dare, if you've ever, best of the best, rapid-fire, and most likely to. It's sure to bring on laughter and friendly debates, and is a must for a girls get together!

If that isn't your style, you can always create your own game with simply a poster board and some markers! For our sisters who are of drinking age, you can make drinking Jenga, a board game for drinking and bonding, or even drinking Uno. There are so many homemade games you can make that can make your get together more personal!

Food, food, and more food.

I'm talking like a large pizza, ice cream, chips, baked goods, and chocolate-covered fruit. As women, there is a constant societal pressure of looking skinny and toned, but this is Galentine's Day and we don't have to listen to anyone! Eat those carbs, those sugars, and all the cheese you want because today is about you and the love you share with your besties. If getting chocolate-covered fruit is too hard, an easy substitute is using Nutella and just slabbing it on the fruit with a knife. Food is a great way to bring people together and always has been from the dinner table to reunions, to even important meetings. So for this Galentine's Day, indulge yourself because you deserve it and so do your friends!

Movie time!

Now there are two routes you could take with this- the romantic movie route, or the anything but route. We all love a good watching of "The Notebook" or a cheesy Netflix original like "To All The Boys I Loved Before," so why change it up? Personally, I love romantic movies and could watch them and no other genre for the rest of my life. But one of my best friends isn't a fan so, what if your girl gang isn't either? You could stick to the Valentine's Day theme and watch a romantic comedy, or you can go completely different and watch a horror movie. This option is up to you and your best friends. Movies are a fun ending to a girls night, so cuddle up and enjoy the company of your favorite people!

Story time!

This is a game that my friends and I made up this past year. Each person puts five pieces of paper into a container and on the paper you write prompts for a story. For example: first date, how you lost your virginity, the time you got in the most trouble (with the law or with your parents), worst date, childhood crush story, or anything that comes to your mind! It's a great way to get to know your friends a way you wouldn't in a normal setting. It causes a lot of laughs and is a great way to not only make memories but to also create them.

Have a night out on the town.

If being a homebody isn't you and your gang's idea of a good time, that's perfectly fine! Go out, go to your favorite restaurant, go to your favorite club, or go to your favorite place to hang out! Roller skating and bowling are two super fun options if you are just trying to have fun! The bottom line- every city has a gem and Galentine's Day could be a great day to go out in your city and find the gem!

Old-fashioned sleep over.

Yes, it is appropriate to play pre-Miley Cyrus-Hannah Montana and prepubescent Justin Bieber. Galentine's Day was made to be used as an excuse to wear your PJs, eat poorly, have a dance party, gossip, and spend time with your friends. Just like you did when you were kids! Just because we are older doesn't mean we can't have fun like we used to, so get your girls and have fun like it's 2009!

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
