6 Things That Make Fall The Greatest Season of All

Unapologetically excited about pumpkin spice lattes and wearing leggings.

6 Things That Make Fall The Greatest Season of All

The leaves are beginning to change, people are saying things like "wear a light jacket" and fall wreaths are on almost every suburban home's front door.

This can only mean one thing:

Fall is in full swing.

I don't know about you, but this is my favorite time of my year. I could probably think of a million reasons to love autumn more than any other season, but that would be considered "excessive" by most of the social media population. So I'll leave you with the top six reasons that cause me to get more excited about fall weather than seeing the hot sign flashing at Krispy Kreme.

1. Pumpkin-scented EVERYTHING.

Bath and Body Works (yes, I still shop there.. but only during fall) has already brought in all of the most beautiful scents. Pumpkin Pecan Waffles, Sweet Cinnamon Pumpkin, Pumpkin Cupcake, and Pumpkin Spice Latte...can I have them all?

2. Football season.

Tailgating on Saturdays for college game day, huddled around the television with chicken wings for NFL football games on Sundays. What could make a more perfect weekend?

3. Starbucks changing their cups.

I know that this makes me the epitome of a white girl, but sometimes I just can't help it. Starbucks isn't always my favorite place to get coffee, because I love little coffee shops more than anything. But when Starbucks changes their cup design and puts the words "Toasted Graham Latte" on their door, I'm running inside.

4. Scarves, boots, tall socks, and everything that accompanies cool weather.

On the pH scale, this one is right beside number 3. BASIC. But nothing makes me happier than boots, scarves, flannel, stockings, and warm hats. And for this, I am also unapologetic.

5. Halloween candy in every store.

There is no better way to spend a Friday night than buying enough Halloween candy for a hundred trick-or-treaters and eating it all by yourself while watching "Hocus Pocus."

6. Campfires and s'mores.

This one isn't even a question. If you're like me and can't make your own fire, microwaves also create s'mores. Sometimes, to get your fill of chocolate marshmallow heaven, you have to get creative.

I hope this makes you want to go jump in a pile of leaves and buy a Pumpkin Pecan Waffle car scent, like I've done in the past two days. Autumn has arrived, and all of the knee-high sock-wearing individuals are talking about it.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
