The Wizarding World of Harry Potter is a magical place. A place where I and millions of others have spent their childhoods and adulthoods. Harry Potter was a blessing, a series that grew up with us and something that we could look forward to each year. Being a fan is being apart of a very large community of people connected by one cause: Harry Potter. As the die hard Harry Potter I am, I have recognized the six stages of being a Potterhead:
1. Deciding who in your friend group is Harry, Hermione and Ron
2. Saying the two most famous lines at the most appropriate times.
"Master has given Dobby a sock, Dobby is free. Dobby is a Free elf"
"I've done my waiting! 12 years of it!! IN AZKABAN!!"
3. Have had a full blown freak out when Universal announced that Harry Potter World was becoming a thing.
Look at it this way, Harry Potter World is basically a year long Comic Con for HP fans.
4. Shamelessly watching/reading Harry Potter for long periods of time, especially during ABC Family Harry Potter Marathon.
To be completely honest there is nothing more relaxing than spending a day or a week indulging in the drama of Hogwarts.
5. Taking the Pottermore sorting quiz to determine your house
This quiz is a vital part of every Harry Potter fan's life. It determines what house you will be in and that house is your family. And it when you find someone in your house it's an instant bond.
6. Crying at the end of Deathly Hallows Part 2
The ending of this movie was extremely emotional, not because many beloved characters are gone and Hogwarts is destroyed, but because it's the ending of a childhood. Many of us grew up with the books and as we aged they aged with us. Harry and his friends were people we could relate too and the way the books were written made it feel like we were there in this magical world with them. It's crazy to think that next year JK Rowling won't be dropping a book, but at least she does gives us updates from time to time so that we know that after all this time all is well.
