While summer may seem like a bore to most of us college students who are really just impatiently waiting to go back to school, it’s also a key time for posting those #summer Instagrams. Instagram is great because it allows us to stay updated on what our friends and family are up to this summer. However, it can also make those of us who aren’t doing much with our summer feel just plain bad.

Even if you’re not having that crazy summer adventure others seem to be having -- at least, according to their social media accounts -- you still want people to think you’re having some fun. So here are 5 #crucial Instagrams everyone should have this summer.

1. Views and iconic spots.

Not all of us our lucky enough to go on crazy summer vacations, but it’s also not hard to make your home location look like a vacation spot. Whether you’re hiking, walking around your neighborhood, or driving to your friends house, it’s always possible to find some cool view that can be turned into one awesome looking Instagram.

2. Home friends.

While most of grow really close to our new college friends, sometimes regrettably leaving behind our high school friends, summer is a great time to rekindle those past relationships, and to also show your college friends that you weren’t that weird in high school.

3. The beach.

While this could be categorized under views, I think #beach Instagrams deserve their own category. There is nothing more symbolic of summer than the beach, and posting one of these Instagrams will only help put you in the same playing field as everyone else and their crazy summer trips to the tropics.

4. Food.

Everyone has to have at least one delicious looking food picture over the summer. Whether it be at a local restaurant, or overseas, it’s not hard to make just about anything look mouth watering, and make others jealous.

While summer is all about getting away and relaxing, it's always nice to let your friends back at school know that you're still thinking about them. Oh, and it's also a good way to go back through all your funny pictures from the past year, and to help you get even more excited about the upcoming year.
