It's the start of the semester, and everyone is excited to see how their classes will be, and whether or not they'll enjoy them. Even though there are so many different majors out there, every semester everyone takes 5-6 classes. Here are the different types of classes that college students take every semester.
1. The one you hate
Sometimes you know when you sign up for it that you'll hate the class, sometimes on syllabus day, or sometimes it takes an exam or two to find out that this one class just isn't for you. No matter when in the semester this occurs, this class will inevitably be the one that you complain about from then on out, and there's nothing that will stop you from doing so.
2. The GE
No matter how long you've been in college, you somehow still have General Education classes that you need to complete in order to graduate. Whether or not you enjoy the class, it is a hurdle that you have to jump in order to get that degree.
3. The one you love
Contrary to the one that you hate, this class is the one that makes you excited for your future job, and you tell everyone who you can get to listen that this is the best class that you've ever taken.
4. The one that you don't know why you're taking
Every semester, there's one class that's just more hassle than it's worth, but I never end up dropping it. Sure, the assignments suck and you don't like the professor, but at the point that you would drop it, you've already done half of the work for the class. If your grade isn't bad, then tough it out and just be thankful that you made it through.
5. The one that you struggle to attend
Maybe the class starts at 8 a.m., attendance isn't required AND the professor is a boring lecturer? You probably know why you don't want to go, and whether or not you actually like the material that is being covered, you can't force yourself to leave your room to go to class. Every time you have to think about it, you dread it.
6. The easy one
If you take more than 15 credit hours, chances are that at least one of your classes is one that you hope is a breeze, and has little to no work.
