There are many disadvantages of Ashland University - crappy wifi, limited prints, the varying temperatures in the buildings - but despite these, there are some crazy awesome things here at AU, or clearly we wouldn't still be here. That being said, here's a little list of some of the best/most loved things at Ashland University.
1) The People
You can't go on a campus tour, let alone live on campus, without hearing of some of the awesome people who help the university happen. Convo Kim is always there to wish you a blessed day, Security Fred likes to ask for scores of whatever's on the TV, and somedays you might just find President Campo serving up hamburgers at the grill.
2) Late Night Dining
What can be bad about fries, nuggets, pizza etc? Freshman year when you have that unlimited meal plan, make use of it! Its a lot better than having to walk to Burger King and spend actual money on the same stuff.
3) Small Classrooms
Two semesters in and my largest class has been 26, and my smallest 6. Because of this its really easy to get to know your professor and since campus is so small, you're likely to know at least one person in your class already.
4) Small Campus
Its always nice to be up and ready for the day with time to spare, but when you have those 8:00ams, nobody cares much for looking presentable. In 15 minutes you can be dressed and at class on time. #blessed
5) Small Town
Whether or not you have a car on campus, there's always someone down for a Walmart, Taco Bell, or Buffalo Wild Wings trip. Best part? Its all just five minutes down the road.
6) Tuffy Tuesday's
Tuesdays are never boring on campus. Out in the quad, in the student center, or wandering around convo, every Tuesday Tuffy can be found somewhere giving out high fives, tee shirts and water bottles, and if you're lucky, you'll make it in the Tuffy Tuesday video!
So yeah, our wifi sucks, we have communal bathrooms, and half our classrooms still have chalkboards, but there's a lot of really cool stuff about our small private AU that keeps us coming back!
