56 One Direction GIFs To Help You Through The Hiatus

One Direction has officially started their estimated 18 month hiatus. Harry and Niall are no where to be found, Liam's already bored, and Louis got a butt tattoo in Chicago. Are we surprised? Not really. Carpool Karaoke may be the last large and new event One Direction fans will have to rewatch (over and over) for a while, but the past five years aren't forgotten. Here are 56 GIFs of One Direction looking back on the last five years to help you survive the 18 month hiatus (or maybe just one day of it).

Oh, The X Factor.

They were just little babies.

Remember their color coordination in their first music video? Very 2011 of them.

Just tiny munchkins.

This was where things started to get serious.

Can you imagine if Liam had the same hair as Harry today?

Did all British boys dress like this in 2011?

And then the goofy charm began.

Not much has changed, really.

And then they began to take over the world with their Up All Night tour.

Clearly, the typical coordinated dances for boy bands has just never been for them.

Live While We're Young Was Released.

Let's count how many times we've seen this dance...

Children, still.

Don't forget that time they practically punched us in the gut with a black and white Little Things video.

And then had an entirely different agenda for Kiss You's video.

Sailor Harry? Okay.

Then, the least produced music video was easily the best one.

Can we take a look at Zayn's face?

Is this what they're like on a daily basis?

Yes, yes, yes.

But then this video came out and you couldn't decide which one you preferred.

Poor Marcel.

That lip bite.

This Is Us actually physically hurt your insides.

And Story of My Life was just the sweetest.

Then Midnight Memories did a quick 180.

Then we went back to sweet with You & I.

Yes, it really was an emotional roller coaster.

The Where We Are Tour ended and the DVD hit like a train.

You cried during Right Now; don't lie.

There weren't quite words for Steal My Girl.

(It's still a jam, in case you were wondering.)

Night Changes let you go on a virtual (bad) date with each one of them.

Then Jimmy Fallon blessed us with this song and these sweaters.

But then James Corden walked into their lives and we forever feel like we owe him.

Then there was this...

And this...

On the Road Again Tour (sadly) ended.

We watched their last performances come to an end during Jingle Ball and the Triple Ho Show.

And then this practically RUINED us.

Harry, Harry, Harry.

And again, we owe James Corden. We owe him a lot.

We got something we never thought we would. Thank you, James.

The hiatus is sad, it really is. BUT, after these 56 GIFs, it's fair to say they deserve a rest. May Louis go out more often, may Liam post more boredom selfies, and may Harry and Niall give us a sign they're alive.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
