Whenever I go to a party, bar or event downtown, one of the main factors I have noticed that determine whether people will stay or if they will leave is the music choice. I am sure most places have that one person who is handed the aux cord for the whole night because their friends are sure their music choice is the best, but people get bored of the same music genre being played continuously throughout the night. People like to hear a variety of music from various styles and artists. This is why I have created a unique list of songs that are not all constantly played at every party and broke them down into four sections that varies in artists, genres, can last the whole night from pregame to final call and could be used for your first party back at school! And as a special treat for those with Spotify who are interested in the songs, I made them into a convenient playlist created for the public! (Recommend using an eight to ten second fade with the list)
The Start Up
Every night needs to start with a good mix of songs to help get everyone ready. By using newer and older songs and adding an unsuspecting touch of country courtesy of Thomas Rhett and Sam Hunt right in the middle of it, you are sure to get everyone pumped for the night. The run time for this section will be a half hour and should start to end as the actual party starts.
1. "Kill the Lights (Audien Remix)" - Alex Newell

The Life of the Party
This is when the party should be starting to get into full swing. Starting out by having the tempo at a nice pace with songs such as "Sorry" or "Fireball" and slowly picking up as the speed with songs such as "No Money"--this should keep the crowd in a good mood. This selection also includes songs that most people will know and will want to sing along with. This part alone runs for a little over an hour and a half but as the night goes on, queuing up other songs can make the party go longer!

The Slowdown
This is where it is starts to get to the unfortunate end of your party. If you look at the end of the last section of the list, you will see it leads into this part with the songs slowing down a little and becoming a tad bit mellower. People are starting to get ready leave but don't want to leave yet or maybe it is getting to the point where you want things to start to wind down a bit. The selection only goes about 25 to 30 minutes.
38. "Sex" - Cheat Codes, Kriss Kross Amsterdam
39. "Turn Me On" - Cheat Codes, Dante Klein
40. "Champagne Problems" - Nick Jonas

Last Call
This is the end of the night. People have started to leave and the crowd is getting smaller and smaller, perhaps it is just your close friends that are left. The buses start to come to the stops less and less and cabs are becoming more scarce as the parties come to a close and the town starts to look like a ghost town. The music selected for this section still has a nice beat to them but it should start to become clear the night is ending because they are getting slower and slower. This final section is a half hour long.
