Sometimes the world and life itself can get overwhelming. In a world filled and sometimes focused on so much negativity, I think it is super important to remember all the beautiful things there are on this Earth, too. There is literally beauty in everything in our world no matter how big or little. Sometimes we get so caught up in ourselves that we forget to take a minute to realize all of the things that make life so wonderful. Here is a list of all of the simple things in life that make me genuinely happy.

1. Making people laugh

2. Strangers who smile at you instead of just staring or ignoring your existence

3. Diner food

4. Scarves

5. Fresh nail-polish

6. Hearing people talk about what they love

7. The feeling you get after the perfect nap

8. Giving people presents

9. The noise the snow makes when you walk on it

10. Fuzzy blankets

11. Fuzzy socks

12. Acoustic covers of songs

13. My favorite iced coffee

14. Learning new words and actually using them in your everyday vocabulary

15. Smelling something that brings you back to a place that you can’t always explain

28. Getting tight hugs

29. My favorite shoes

30. Visiting somewhere new

31. Learning new, interesting things about my family that I didn’t know before

32. Watching how quickly the sunrise/sunset changes and how beautiful it is in general

33. Eating junk food with your friends and not feeling guilty after

34. Dressing up

35. Watching funny movies

36. Looking at a clear night sky

37. Jumping with the waves in the ocean

38. Getting a good grade on something you worked hard on

39. Learning new things about people in general

40. Going home

41. Feeling beautiful without validation from anyone else

42. Trying new food and really liking it

43. People with names you’ve never heard before

44. Jumping in puddles

45. Glitter

46. Warm, comfy, cardigans

47. Watching the leaves change

49. Finding new quotes

50. Candid photos

51. Checking things off of any type of list

When you’re feeling like your fears are bigger than your faith, just remember that you are just a speck in this universe and there are things so much larger than you can even grasp. But, all of these amazing things are just in your little speck. Think about all of the incredible things must be out there if these are just the fantastic things that you know of. No matter what life throws at you, there is beauty in everyday and the most important thing to be in this life is happy -- truly, genuinely, intensely happy.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
