On June 5, 2011, MTV launched their newest show about a high school freshman getting his world turned upside down as he enters the supernatural world. Scott McCall was bitten by a werewolf which thus began the story of "Teen Wolf." Almost five years later, the show is now coming to the end of its fifth season, and has been renewed for its sixth. Like all TV shows, this teen drama has faced its ups and downs. While their number of viewers has never been through the roof, critics have generally given the show positive feedback, and it has also become a fan favorite on social media.
All those who have seen everything from episode one to now knows we have been through our fair share of scares, laughs and heartbreak. Starting with Season 1, we adored the fumbling freshmen whose biggest dream was to be on the starting line of the lacrosse team.
We have watched as our beloved characters fell in love. Anyone who knows anything about "Teen Wolf" knows that Allison and Scott became their relationship standards for eternity.
Stiles Stilinski was an instant fan favorite. He was nerdy and sarcastic, and everyone could relate to him because he quite literally is the only teen that is human.
Well, that was of course until our favorite villain came along. Part two of Season 3 will forever be my personal favorite part of the series. The actors had come a far way from where they started in Season 1. Add in an amazing plotline, and you have yourself a killer season. Literally. This season brought in a villain no one was prepared for, and that was Void Stiles. Our beloved human had his mind taken over by a dark spirit and started reigning down on the small town of Beacon Hills. Dylan O’Brien did wonders with his part as both Stiles and Void Stiles. He well deservingly won the Teen Choice Award for Best Villain in 2014.
While the void was eventually defeated, I stand for many fans when I say we would have no problem with it coming back.
This wonderful season took a sad turn though, as we lost our adorable Allison Argent. I couldn’t imagine any viewer taking this lightly. We will continue to miss her dearly.
Season 4 was a mess of new characters and setting up story lines. It was sad to see the show tumble slightly downhill after such an incredible season. I am happy to say though, that are favorite teens of the supernatural are making a comeback. Season 5, I believe, has been a continuous success in bringing the show back to the level it once sat. With such an incredible and dedicated cast, it is easy to say that there will always be potential for this show. It is hard to believe how far these characters have come since that night Scott and Stiles stumbled into those woods. Despite it all, don’t expect the fans of "Teen Wolf" to be leaving anytime soon, not until the final ending credit.
