1. “What Light” by Jay Asher.
"What Light" by Jay Asher, a 2016 release, follows Sierra and her family's Christmas tree farm. Every December, Sierra leaves Oregon with her parents to run their Christmas tree lot in California. While she looks forward to another season at the lot, this year comes with an unexpected twist in the form of a boy named Caleb. "What Light" is such a cute, heartwarming story about love and the holiday season.
2. “The Twelve Days of Dash and Lily” by Rachel Cohn and David Levithan.
Another 2016 release, “The Twelve Days of Dash and Lily” is the companion novel to Rachel Cohn and David Levithan’s “Dash and Lily’s Book of Dares." The novel is set a year after the first book, and Lily, one of our main protagonists, struggles to get into the holiday spirit after a hard year on her family. Her boyfriend Dash is more than ready to get Lily feeling that Christmas magic again with a snow-filled trip around New York City. Old and new fans alike will have fun experiencing the most wonderful time of the year alongside Dash and Lily.
3. “My True Love Gave To Me” by Stephanie Perkins.
"My True Love Gave to Me" features twelve short stories from YA's most popular authors. From Holly Black to Rainbow Rowell, these authors will surely get you into the holiday spirit. I personally love this book because there's something for everyone. It not only includes stories about Christmas and Hanukkah, but also fantastical and spooky tales surrounding the winter season.
4. “Let It Snow” by John Green, Lauren Myracle, and Maureen Johnson.
"Let It Snow" features three romance stories from John Green, Lauren Myracle and Maureen Johnson. The novel interweaves all three stories with one another, as they take place in the same town on Christmas Eve. Universal currently owns the movie rights to the book, and the film is set to be released in 2017.
5. “Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone” by J.K. Rowling.
Harry's first Christmas at Hogwarts makes me wish I could instantly fly to the wizarding school (as if I didn't already). J.K. Rowling writes such beautiful scenes about Christmas at Hogwarts that would make anyone choose to spend their winter break at school. I mean, who wouldn't want to share a festive-filled meal with the great Albus Dumbledore?
