Beyoncé Knowles is a passionate singer/songwriter and has certainly maintained the title as an eccentric performer and entertainer. During her journey as a musician, Beyoncé has created numerous hit songs and albums that have resonated with listeners around the globe. All the while, from the beginning of her career until the present day, she has composed music and performed songs that undoubtedly supports and empowers women when it comes to sexuality, relationships, independence, etc. As a fierce woman who boldly identifies as a feminist, here are 5 songs by Queen B which uplift, encourage, and liberate women.

1. Irreplaceable (2006)

Starting off, in the music video "Irreplaceable," Beyoncé sings about leaving her partner because of unfaithfulness in their relationship. He most likely undermined her strength and determination to leave the unhealthy relationship. Beyonce sings about the man's doubt in her choices and his mindset that she couldn't prevail without him in her life. In all, Beyonce sings for the women who may be in toxic or unhealthy partnerships. This song not only speaks on growth and going after what we deserve in our relationships but also stands relatable for many.

2. Single Ladies (2008)

Therefore, the main message and focus in "Single Ladies" is for singles everywhere to take charge in their romantic relationships. The chorus chimes, “If you like it, then you should have put a ring on it. Don't be mad if you see that he want it." These lyrics are a directed at men who tend to be indecisive when it comes to settling down. Beyonce sings of a strong woman leaving their partner who may not entirely appreciate her presence. Instead, she chooses her own happiness and makes her own decisions in their relationship. This anthem is extremely identifiable and freeing.

3. Who Run The World (Girls) (2011)

Furthermore, "Who Run The World (Girls)" is undoubtedly a song of numerous uplifting lyrics and overall screams girl power. The message Beyonce presents involving female unity is evident throughout the video and without a doubt, Beyonce stands firm in what she believes in. With the video representing various women and Beyonce's hard and confident demeanor, the awareness and self-love she portrays is utterly inspiring and empowering to any girl who listens.

4. ***Flawless ft. Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie (2013)

In addition, "Flawless" which features Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie, a Nigerian, writer and activist is a powerful anthem about being a feminist and shamelessly embracing it. A snippet of Adichie's TedTalk, We Should All Be Feminists, plays as the center theme of the song. Lines such as, "we teach girls to shrink themselves, to make themselves smaller. We say to girls, you can have ambition, but not too much..." are strong and lead her auidence to self-reflect with every line. By Beyonce including Chimamanda and other liberating lyrics in "Flawless" shows her determined spirit to spread awareness about feminism and the power that comes along with it.

5. Formation (2016)

Making its debut during this year's half-time super bowl show, "Formation" is also a song about unity and encouraging other women to achieve their goals and dreams. Beyonce also sings from a place of acceptance of her race, features, and background. "Formation" intends to inspire women to remain ambitious, work hard, and inevitably go after what they want.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
