5 Underrated Artists You Need To See At Hangout Fest 2019

Of course Hangout Music Festival's headliners always bring the largest crowds, but sometimes it is the smaller artists towards the bottom of the lineup that end up taking you by surprise. Hangout is the perfect time to explore new music artists and see them live before they begin their rise on the music charts. So grab your water, put on your sunscreen, and prepare to seek out tons of different new bands and music styles you have never heard before.

5. The Band Camino

The Band Camino is an alternative rock band from Memphis, TN that has only started adding to their discography in 2016. Their songs are pure, raw, and stripped down, and they songs that any person can emotionally connect to. They have a vibrant and colorful state presence, and they once said in an interview that they have always wanted to play a music festival. If you arrive to their stage at least an hour early, you are practically guaranteed a good viewing spot.

King Princess is an American songwriter and multi-instrumentalist from New York City. She is known for her underground and soulful pop music along with her aesthetic image. Some like to label her as indie pop or pop rock, but her genre seems to vary from song to song, and you get a different feel with each one. She has a similar stage presence to that of Lorde, and she captivates her crowds with her energy.

Lovelytheband is an extremely new band that has already made their way into multiple festival lineups throughout the country. They are in fact still very small, but they are currently on the rise. They have already had their song "broken" hit the music charts, and their pop rock style is one that is popular among many audiences. They have a fun and lively stage image, and they enjoy getting the crowd involved at their shows.

2. Sir Sly

Sir Sly is a band that I have a personal connection with, as I have seen them live once before. This alternative rock band is unique in it's music style. It relies heavily on drums and guitar, and the lyrics are written from the lead singer's pure emotions. I can truthfully state that they put on an amazing show, and they do not hold anything back. They are a band that loves to put on a good show, and in respect to that they definitely do not disappoint.

Favorite song: Altar

1. Quinn XCII

Quinn XCII is a songwriter that I have been listening to for a few years now. The lead singer comes from Detroit, MI and his electro-pop has played at hundreds of college campuses across the nation. He has been releasing new music at a fast pace since 2015, and there is always something new from him to listen to. He makes all of his own music as well as create his own unique sound elements used in his songs. His songs are extremely catchy, and he is definitely at the top of my list to go see at Hangout this summer.

Favorite Song: Sad Still

Even though the styles of these artists each vary, one thing that I have noticed after going to Hangout is that I always finish the weekend loving something new. Whether that be a new artist, genre, or just a sound, Hangout is the perfect place to step out of your comfort zones and listen to some artists you would have never listened to before. Take my advice and you just might end this summer's Hangout with a new favorite band.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
