The world is a big place, and it's never too late or too early to start exploring it and experiencing new things. Some people spend all their lives in the same place collecting material items. To me, that's no way to live. You will never get as much joy and excitement from an item as you would get from exploring a different culture. Those material items just become clutter down the road anyway, but you can always think back to how much you really lived. So dream big, spend your money on experiences, explore as much of the world as you possibly can, and make memories with the ones you love.
1. Plan
You should plan everything you want to do on your adventure and exactly how much you're willing to spend before you leave. If you plan everything beforehand, you can usually find a lot of discounts for scheduling early. Plus, you won't have to worry about figuring everything out while you're on your vacation, and you will be able to relax. You could also make plans to do everything in the off seasons in order to get even more deals and discounts. You just have to be conscientious when traveling on a budget, but it is possible.
2. Groupon
Groupon has the best deals. I literally scroll through Groupon like normal people scroll through their Facebook news feeds, because you can find so many awesome things/getaways.You can get extravagant hotel rooms at amazing rates and get credits to activities included in your Groupon deal.
3. Food
You probably won't be having five-course meals at fancy restaurants that often, so save your money and pack food yourself. You can choose how healthy you want your meals to be at a cheaper rate and use that money to be able to experience more on your trip. If you eat like a college student on your trip, then you can experience the world like a college graduate.
4. Invite
Get a group of friends to travel with so you can split the costs for everything and still be able to get the best of the best! I brought a big group of friends to a nice hotel room that I bought using my AAA discount, and each person only had to give me about $20 for that vacation. It was a really cheap way to get out of town and have a blast with friends.
5. Drive
I love flying so much that I would love to be a pilot, but road trips save you a lot of money, especially if you have a car that's good on gas mileage. They can be super fun, too! You just have to be with the right people, have the right music playing and have lots of good snacks to tide you over for the trip. You get to see so many different places, as well, when you would normally just see clouds out the window of a plane. With all the tragedies happening in the world these days, it's safer to travel by car anyway.
Don't wait for the perfect moment. You don't have to be rich to be able to see the world. It's easier to do more when you're rich, but you wouldn't appreciate it as much as you would on a budget. It's all about doing whatever it takes to get the most out of life. You don't need the best hotel room when you could go snorkeling in the Caribbean instead. Make some sacrifices, get out there and do things you've never done before with the people you love most. What are you waiting for? You won't regret it.
