As a writer, I love creating stories. However it can be difficult at times to think of new ideas for writing a story. Instead of waiting for the lightening to strike, you can continue to write and then soon enough having a free flow of thoughts. If you're having some trouble with your creative writing, here are a few tips that could help you get past it.

1. Clear your mind.

When your mind is free of distractions, then you can finally sit down and think of new things to write about. When your mind is cluttered or you're stressed out, you won't be able to think about much. So, clear your desk, get your computer or a piece of paper and a pen, and write to your heart's content.

2. Write freely.

If you aren't able to get a good start then just start writing things down. You basically write anything and everything that comes to your head.

3. Get some coffee.

Caffeine may be your cure! If you're a coffee drinker like me, then maybe all you need is a nice, hot cup of coffee.

4. Free yourself from distractions.

This goes along with clearing your mind. Once your turn off your iPhone, find a quiet place to work, and set your mind to your writing, your thought will be able to flow.

5. Read a book.

Sometimes you just need a book to help spark your imagination.

Writing a paper is never fun and is rarely rewarding. The writer's block, the page requirement, be specific, but don’t summarize, make sure you fixed any grammatical errors, did you even use spellcheck? and analyze, analyze, analyze.

Papers can be a major pain. They take up so much time and effort that by the end of the process you hate yourself and you hate the professor for making life so difficult. Questions of your existence start roaming in your mind. Am I even cut out for college if I can’t write a single paper? Am I even capable of taking care of myself if I lack the energy to open my laptop and start typing?
