5 Thoughts You Have At The Airport

We all have that love/hate relationship with the airport, and by love, that's when you get to leave the airport.

5 Thoughts You Have At The Airport

Everyone loves going out of town, but to get there you have to go through the airport- and that's the absolute worst. They never fail to make you feel so beyond uncomfortable and so violated while going through security. On top of that, if you have an early morning flight, everything pisses you off and you just wanna get there already. But while at the airport you probably have some of these thoughts, too:

1. “What if I go off in the security check and they have to strip search me, wow that'd be awkward”

You never want to be that person in the line that holds everyone up because your bag is sketchy, but when in reality you just left perfume in your bag and you completely forgot about the 3 oz rule. Still, you sure as hell do NOT want to be the person that everyone questions that you have to get taken into further security, like a strip search to make sure you didn't keister anything or something weird.

2. “Can everyone hurry up I'm going to miss my flight”

For some reason, everyone in the airport takes their own sweet time, and it seems like you're the only one with a place to be. Even though you’re like 3 hours early for your flight, there's always those two thoughts of, “they're gonna change my flight to earlier and then I'm screwed because ALL YOU PEOPLE ARE SO SLOW!” and the other thought of, “Am I at the right gate?” because you're the only one there weirdly early.

3. That feeling when they come on the intercom and tell you that your flight is delayed

Easily the worst feeling. You're tired of the aluminum benches they call seats already and airport food is nasty, along with that stale smell constant flow of people. It's just a miserable time sitting at the airport waiting for your delayed flight.

4. “If this child behind me doesn't stop kicking my seat I'm going to scream”

If this has ever happened to you, and you've actually said something to the kid, RESPECT. Because it's the worst, most annoying thing in the entire world. Especially when it's a long flight and you're trying to sleep. Then the mom or dad tells them to stop kicking so they start crying, wow, that's just a series of unfortunate events. You're in for it at that point. There's no hope for your ears or your back at that point. Good luck.

5. “So, what's the move if we go down”

The constant thought you have and the intricate plan you make in your head of what you're going to do if this ride ends badly. Mine is always to run to the back and hope for the best at that point. Everyone's on their own, may the odds be forever in your favor.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
