1. DON'T SKIP CLASS
I know that this is something that is stressed to everyone, but seriously, once you skip one, the likelihood of you returning isn’t great. You waste so much money skipping class because you pay for every class that you are supposed to attend. No matter what excuse you can come up with, just go to class. It's worth it
2. THE QUOTE “I’m in a room full of people and I’ve never felt so alone.” IS REAL.
I think this is one of the hardest things I have had to realize. You obviously are never alone because home isn’t far away and you have family on speed dial, but there are times when you will realize that you are in a big place alone. It’s hard but it gets better.
3. EAT, BREATHE AND SLEEP YOUR SYLLABUS
Professors don’t remind you when things are due; it is up to you to be responsible. The syllabus is a great resource and is something that you need.
4. HAVE FUN
So many of my friends this year have told me that they don’t think they will be able to go out a lot because of studying. Studying is what you are here for, but it's important to have fun and go out with friends.
5. TAKE CARE OF YOURSELF
Sleep, eat, workout and take care of yourself. College takes a lot out of you so it’s important to be at your best. It takes a lot of energy, but it's worth it in the end.
