As a kid, Christmas time was always my favorite time of the year and still is. Christmas is a lot different now that I’m 18. I sometimes wish that I could go back in time to when I was a kid during the holidays season. Here are five things that everyone did as a kid during Christmas time!

1. Wrote a letter to Santa

When I was a kid, I looked forward to writing Santa a letter every year! The best part about being little during Christmas time was knowing that Santa would be coming on Christmas Eve night to bring you the toys that you asked for. As a little girl, I would always ask Santa for Barbies and Bratz Dolls.

2. Watched Disney Channel and Nickelodeon during the holiday season

I don't know about any of you, but Disney Channel was my absolute favorite thing to watch during the Christmas Season. I would wake up on Christmas break and watch all the Christmas themed episodes on Playhouse Disney and then switch to Nickelodeon in the afternoon! I use to love seeing all my favorite shows go all Christmas in certain episodes. I wish that Disney Channel and Nickelodeon would bring back some of their older shows just for the Holiday Season.

3. Visited Build-A-Bear several times during the holiday season

Every Christmas I would get a Build-A-Bear from one of my family members. I remember on one Christmas, Happy Feet was really big and my dad had got me the Mumble Build-A-Bear along with a little Igloo! I was so ecstatic! Build A Bear was my favorite place to visit as a kid during Christmas time - it was so festive and fun.

4. Left out cookies for Santa

Leaving out cookies on Christmas Eve was always so much fun! I always left him a glass of milk and three chocolate chip cookies. My mom and I would leave some reindeer food for him, too! It was just awesome!

5. Woke up on Christmas morning

Waking up on Christmas morning was always magical! Looking outside at the snow and then running into your parent's room screaming "SANTA CAME!" was always my favorite thing! I just loved being around the tree with my family opening up presents and seeing everyone's face glow up!

Let's be real, though, we still do most of these things because it reminds us of our childhood! Christmas time is a time to be a kid and just feel youthful again! I will forever believe in Santa around Christmas time and wake my parents up way early!

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
