Have you ever wanted to have a really cool looking dorm room like you've seen a bunch of pictures of on Pinterest and Tumblr but honestly just don't know where to start? Here are some quick tips and suggestions on how to make your dorm room look like a masterpiece while still managing to feel like home!

1. A consistent color palate

If you don’t have a consistent color palate, than you’re probably doing fine. But if you want a dorm room that would get my approval (because honestly, who wouldn’t want it?) then pick a few colors that you really love and put some of them together until you find a palate that really works well and catches your eye. This will be your first step into an aesthetically pleasing home space.

2. Fairy lights

This is cliche as all hell, but honestly, it is one of the most dramatically millennial aesthetics that you just have to have. You can get fairy/Christmas/string lights in literally any shape or color, which makes this the idea way to make your room have a calm, soft feeling. If you don’t like this, go with a cool lamp because let’s be real, anything is better than fluorescent dorm lights.

3. Plants

Plants are beautiful, they help you breathe better, and they’re a mostly easy step towards responsibility. You can get a plant for every corner of your room, or just one. It’ll be nice to look at but also it’ll give you a constant chore to add some structure into that unstructured college lifestyle most of us live.

4. A collection of something that you love

This can be anything, and it doesn’t necessarily all have to match. It just needs to show off some of the things that really make you happy and will also make sure your room doesn’t look too perfect.

5. Organizers that match what you’ve got

Having pens lay around and notebook paper crumpled into balls around your desk isn’t exactly the most pleasing thing on the eyes. My suggestion? Get some organizers so that your room doesn’t end up so messy, but also because it’s just super practical.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
