A new Semester has arrived! With the new year and a new semester, there is so much to look forward to. The Spring semester is my favorite semester, because it brings so much along with it. For me, this will be my last Spring semester and my last semester of my undergraduate career. Even though the Spring semester starts with the colder months, soon enough the warmer weather is upon us. Here are the 5 things all College students can look forward to this Spring semester:

1) Warmer Weather and Warmer Clothes

This is hands down my favorite part about the Spring semester. Being able to wear clothes that are bright in colors, wearing flip flops, having painted toes, and not having to wear a coat are all near and dear to my heart. Being able to enjoy having your bedroom window open and not having to walk to class through the snow are all reasons why the Spring semester is the best. The warm weather is also an immediate mood booster for me.

2) Spring Break

No- not "Girls Gone Wild"- just Spring Break. Being able to go somewhere warm and tropical, or even being able to be home for a week enjoying the warm weather is worthwhile. The stereotype of a typical college student's Spring Break isn't accurate for everyone; but, most students do enjoy blowing off some steam with the warm weather as an added bonus. For college Seniors, this is our last break for a while since we are going to be heading into the 'real world' soon enough!

3) Spring Holidays

St. Patrick's Day, Lent, and Easter are all apart of my favorite Holidays. My Mom was born on St. Patrick's Day, so I'm not too big on going crazy and drinking green beer that day. However, being able to use lent as a time of reflection leading up to the Easter holiday is special and very meaningful to me personally. I enjoy the spring holidays because I enjoy being able to celebrate these holidays while being surrounded with warm weather. It makes me that much more excited for the holidays I'm celebrating.

4) Outdoor Activities

The number of outdoor activites that you can do when it gets warm outside is endless! Hiking, swimming, kayaking, canoeing, fishing, jet sking, boating, and going camping are just a few that many people look forward to when the warmer months appear. I personally enjoy being able to simply sit outside with a frosty beverage and enjoy simple things such as Kan-Jam or listening to music outside.

5) Graduation

Finally, the long anticipated end to it all for college Seniors! The warm weather, wardrobe change, holidays, and outdoor activities are just an added bonus to this one! Graduation is only 4 months away currently, and I couldn't be more excited or more anxious for that special day. Being able to celebrate my accomplishments with my family, friends, and fellow students in attendance is going to be something that I will never forget.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
