Take a break from finals and partying, and do these things that will make you a better person and help you build a brighter, smarter future. Here are five things you should do right now while you’re still in college.
1. Take Ivy-league classes for free online right now.
Go to Coursera to get started on this online adventure. Another website is Udemy. Both websites offer free courses online taught by professors at Harvard, Yale, Princeton, MIT, Columbia, NYU, Stanford, UPenn, Northwestern, University of Chicago, and many others. The classes range in topics such as art, business, personal finance, biology, computer programming, politics, mathematics, logic, philosophy, literature, history, and many more. Check it out! Do it.
2. Open up an investment account at Charles Schwab.
Check out Schwab to open up a free account. Or, using your iPhone or Android, open up a free trading account with RobinHood, also the first of its kind to offer free investing/trading with no fees. Do you like Chipotle? Michael Kors? Do you think their stock price should be rising in the future? You can buy some shares of their stock and slowly build profitable side income for no fee on your phone with the RobinHood app. You'll thank me when you're 30, 40, 50, and 60.
3. Watch a TED talk.
TED offers online talks, discussions, and presentations on the internet’s, and planet’s, best and most important topics from the world’s experts on matters such as art, life, business, technology, psychology, and current events.
4. Download Audible on your phone.
It’s a free app that lets you download and listen to any audiobook on any book. If you’re like me, you know that reading and knowledge are vital towards becoming a well-rounded, intelligent, and confident person. However, we all know that we can’t carry a book around all the time. Try listening to a book instead -- it works! There are some awesome books on there, including "The Alchemist," by Paulo Coelho, "Steve Jobs," by Walter Isaacson, and "Elon Musk," by Ashlee Vance.
5. Sign up for Amazon Prime.
With your student account “@university.edu,” Amazon offers Prime to students for a discount and gives full access to its movie streaming collection (which is massive and has the newest movies!). And, not to mention, you have free next-day or same-day shipping on almost all orders. Do you need toilet paper? How about some whey protein? Anything else? Cheap and with free shipping on Amazon... holla!
