Recently in southeastern Louisiana, we have been experiencing a lot of rain. Wait, that's an understatement. Let's go with this, we have been experiencing "The Flood 2.0" in the past few days. It's horrible to say the least, especially when some are out of power...and Internet. Nevertheless, being cooped up in my house for the past few days has given me inspiration. I began to ask myself this question, what should I do since I can't go out and be social? Here are my solutions!

1. Netflix

Honestly, this is my answer for everything, BUT it is the best way to pass the time. Plus, who doesn't like to cuddle under the blankets with a good movie or TV show? My first suggestions would be a marathon of "Grey's Anatomy" or "Gossip Girl." However, if you're not really into the whole drama and scandal nonsense that makes those two then you may be in for a "Friends" or "The Office" marathon instead.

Rather a movie? You can never go wrong with the '80s. I'm thinking anything starring Molly Ringwald, or "Can't Buy Me Love" with Patrick Dempsey aka McDreamy *insert heart eye emoji*.

2. Read

I've kind of lost touch with my reading interest but that doesn't mean I don't love to do so! I think deep down every girl loves to drink a nice mug of coffee with a good book when it's pouring outside. (so picturesque, right?) I am more of a dystopian society kind of girl. "The Hunger Games" and "Divergent" are #1 on my list. Want something with an amazing story line with shocking details? "Thirteen Reasons Why" by Jay Asher and "The Impossible Knife of Memory" by Laurie Halse Anderson are some great reads as well.

3. DIY Projects

I will confess, I am not too familiar when it comes to DIY things but I hear many people love to do them. I have a lot pinned on my Pinterest, does that count? I'm obsessed with this whole "make your own cup" thing. Look at these pics!

4. Cooking

Again, my Pinterest is full of recipes I have been dying to try but never seem to have the time to actually prepare them. I would probably end up just making all of my favorite desserts, #noshame. I think my favorite recipe that I've tried so far are these things called "Knock Your Socks Off Brownies". I honestly believe these were created in Heaven and sent down by the Lord himself. It's chocolate cookies on the bottom with double stuffed Oreo's in the middle and brownies on top! *prepare to drool*

You're welcome.

5. Sleep

Finally, when all else fails and no other plan seems to be entertaining, sleep is always the best option. Everyone seems to complain about how they never get enough sleep during the week so take this as your opportunity to be lazy and get some much needed rest.

Whatever your plans are for these next few rainy days, always remember to stay safe. My prayers are going out to those that are being affected by this incredible flooding. Hoping it subsides very soon.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
