Graduating from high school is big, it's one of the first major accomplishments in your life. Senior year has been a year filled with different activities and easy assignments trying to get you towards graduation. It's finally May and everything is coming at you so fast. You have Prom this weekend, and your senior celebration the weekend after. then somehow your last day of school comes by and then you have arrived at graduation. You've been waiting for graduation for so long and all of a sudden, it's passing by so fast.
1. Senior year goes by scary fast.
It's September and you're going to homecoming, blink once and you're already on Senior Spring Break. It may seem that it is going by very slowly, but once your last semester hits, it's whizzing by faster than you'd ever realize. Spend time with your younger friends and even your teachers because you'll never have that time again.
2. May and June and maybe even July will be booked.
From Prom to graduation to orientation, you will not have a single weekend to just relax. There will always be a graduation party or a birthday party to attend. It's weird how you can go from being in school to celebrating how you're not in school in just one weekend.
3. You will miss your senior class.
You may have Senior prom or Junior-Senior Prom, but there will always be one last event that marks the end of your high school careers together. You will miss them and as much as that one kid who kept making the same lame jokes in chemistry bothered you then, you will miss him trying to get a laugh out of a crowd.
4) Leaving your friends is going to be hard.
You haven't even left yet, but you're already dreading it. You have one last summer to spend together, yet half of you are going on vacation and the other half are working all day, every day. Try and spend as much time with your friends during school because once you're out everybody has other commitments and events that are hard to work around.
5) You're going to change and that's okay.
Maybe it's because you're out of high school and away from that bubble where everybody gossips. Who you were in high school may not be who you are once you graduate or start to finish up high school. As everything is passing by quickly, you'll realize what was important to you freshman, sophomore, and junior year is not really important to you at all. Don't be that kid who will forever be stuck in high school, please.
Cherish the times you had in high school, but don't get stuck there. Congratulations graduates, you've made it! (There's still college so don't go too crazy yet).
