Turning 21 is a huge stepping-stone in someone’s life. Every girl that is turning 21 has gotten the “speech.” This “speech” is about the dangers of going to the bar or just out with friends. Your parents, doctor, family friends, etc. will all give you this “speech.” Here are the top five things these people will tell you [and what your reaction will probably be].
1. Always go to the bathroom with someone: The bathroom is the perfect opportunity to talk your friend into dancing on the dance floor with you. A bathroom run is also good for giving your friend the low down on the cute guy that asked for your number.
2. Open your drink in front of you: We all know there are crazy people out there. If you order a bottle of beer or a can, don’t let anyone but yourself open it.
3. Drinking from a glass: If you get a drink in a glass, make sure to watch the bartender make it. If someone buys you a drink, even though it may break your heart, say "no thanks." You girls know that though—its been pounded into our heads.
4. Don't drink and drive: Even people that know you don't drive to begin with will tell you this. Everyone has seen those news stories about how the drunk person lived and the other person didn't; you don't want to have to live with that guilt. Just don't do it—call for a ride.
5. The line, "We know you're not stupid, but..." There will always be that one person that just doesn't get it and then they will get themselves in trouble. For those who get it and won't do anything stupid, they still have to suffer through the "speech" over and over again.
